Are you coming to the Smokies but aren’t sure what you should do while you’re in town? There are a ton of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg attractions you’ll want to experience. From entertainment complexes to animal attractions, there’s a little bit of everything for everyone. Here are 6 Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg attractions you have to experience:
Do you enjoy browsing through shops and riding kiddie rides with your kids? The Island in Pigeon Forge may be the place to go for you! This entertainment complex has over 40 retail shops where you can find games, clothes, home decor, and so much more. You’ll also find plenty of restaurants and snack shops where you can grab a bite to eat. You definitely can’t miss The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, and there are plenty of other fun rides you can experience as well. The Island is a great place to take the whole family!
If you have been to the Smokies before and you’ve never been to Dollywood, then you definitely need to go the next time you’re in town. This theme park has thrill rides, kiddie rides, and family rides you’ll love. There are a ton of concerts and shows you can watch. Browse through a ton of shops, walk through the Dolly museum, and you don’t want to miss out on all of the great food you can try.
Did you know the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge is one of two out of the entire country? At this Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg attraction, you will receive a boarding pass with a person’s name on it. This person was an actual passenger on the Titanic, and you find out their fate at the end of the museum tour. You’ll see replicas from the ship, real artifacts, and interactive exhibits that help you learn a little more about this historic tragedy.
Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies is a place you will want to visit while you’re in town. You will get to see all kinds of beautiful animals from the ocean and the rainforest. Kids will love being able to touch some of the animals and learn about these creatures. There’s a playground near the penguins, and you’ll want to experience the tunnel under Shark Lagoon. Keep an eye out for Sally the sea turtle!
Want to see beautiful views of the mountains and have some fun? A Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg attraction you should try is the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park. You’ll ride a chair lift up the side of the mountain, and get off at the top. The huge observation deck is a great place to take in the mountain views and take pictures. Walk across the SkyBridge and brave your fears as you cross over the glass panels in the middle of the bridge. Then grab a drink at the bar as you enjoy the views some more!
Another great place you should visit is Anakeesta. To get to the top of this area, you can ride a Ridge Rambler or ride the chair lift. There are several spots where you can sit on benches or rocking chairs and take in the beautiful views. For a little more adventure, go on the duel ziplines or ride the mountain coaster. The new observation tower is a great place to take in mountain views, and everyone will have fun on the Treeventure Challenge Course.
